Mens Summer 2025 trends

As the weather begins to heat up, style sometimes gets lost. How is one suppose to layer in such harsh conditions?

This summer, I have tried formulating the best way to stay chic, without getting sweaty. Lately, my style has leaned more into what I’d call “office chic.” I’ve been wearing a lot of dress shorts, loafers, and plain-colored t-shirts. It’s simple, clean, and put-together—but still relaxed enough for summer. Trousers attached with a short sleeve T-shirt, paried with some loafers. Instead of full suits or button-downs, I go for soft tailoring and comfortable basics. Dress shorts with a tucked-in tee and loafers give the same sharp feel, without being too formal. Neutral colors like white, beige, black, or navy help keep the outfit timeless and easy to pair.

This style has been my go-to for summer because it’s effortless but still feels styled. It’s a way to look clean and mature while staying cool in the heat.

The Dress Shoe

Picking the best dress shoe should be based on your outfit. Whether it’s black, brown, or cherry red, the easiest rule to follow is making sure it complements the rest of what you’re wearing. Doc Martens are a great choice — they can be styled with almost anything. Lately, I’ve noticed a rise in pairing these traditionally formal shoes with more casual pieces, which I’ve actually loved seeing. Whether they’re worn with a chic pair of sweats or athletic shorts, the contrast creates a really cool, effortless vibe.

The Shorts

This summer, I’ve been rotating between a few types of shorts. Long dress shorts are my go-to. They’re structured, clean, and give that office-chic vibe I love. I usually pair them with a tucked-in tee and loafers. But I’m also into short shorts, especially ones that feel ’70s-inspired. They’re fun, sexy, confident, and way more stylish than people think. Short tailored shorts are great too—polished but still playful. Even athletic shorts can work if they’re fitted and simple. Add a good top and you still look put together. I even think long boxers can be a classic look. As long as you wear a tighter pair underneath. Stay stylish while also staying cool

The Top

When it comes to tops this summer, simplicity with a twist goes a long way. Plain-colored T-shirts are a staple — easy to style and always reliable, especially in neutral or muted tones. Lightweight button-up shirts are also in heavy rotation, offering a breezy, polished look that works just as well tucked into dress shorts as it does worn open over a tank. Polos are also a great choice, I’ve been into ones with interesting textures or patterns — they feel retro without trying too hard and add just the right amount of personality to an outfit. Tank tops can also be very fashionable if styled correctly.

Accessories

Since layering isn’t really an option in the summer heat, accessories become key to making your outfit stand out. Hats, jewelry, and sunglasses can instantly elevate a simple look. A classic cap or vintage hat adds personality while also being practical. I’ve been loving layered necklaces, small hoops, and even a bold watch or bracelet to bring something extra to an otherwise basic tee-and-shorts combo. Adding a chic bag or fun belt can easily spice up your look. The little details make all the difference — they give your outfit a sense of intention and personality without adding bulk or heat. Get creative with the way you add pieces to your look.

Pants

Sometimes, the only thing I want to wear is a good pair of pants. I honestly think they can take an outfit to the next level. I’ll risk sweating if it means I feel my most stylish. Whether it’s jeans or tailored trousers, they look amazing paired with a lightweight T-shirt or top. It’s a simple combo, but it gives structure and intention — especially when the fit is right.

Tattoos (optional)

I would never tell anyone what they should or shouldn’t do with their body — but if you’re already showing more skin in the summer, tattoos can be a great way to elevate your look. It almost feels comical to even recommend this, but tattoos can genuinely give you a sexy edge you might not have had before. Your skin’s already out — why not personalize it? That said, always do your research on who’s tattooing you, and choose a style that you love, not just what’s trending. Right now, patchwork sleeves are super popular with the newer generation, but full sleeves and American Traditional pieces remain timeless and incredibly stylish.

This summer, style is all about simplicity with intention. Think plain T-shirts, lightweight button-ups, and textured polos paired with tailored trousers or jeans — even if it means sweating a little for the look. Since heavy layering isn’t practical, accessories like hats and jewelry help personalize a basic outfit. Tattoos can also add a bold, stylish edge if that’s your thing. Ultimately, it’s about finding what feels good on your body and makes you feel like your most confident self.
